Grant-Funded Projects

These projects are funded by the Foundation’s Board of Directors based on requests from the congregation, including members; ministry teams; the Ministry Council; or the congregation’s Executive Director, Principal or Administrative Pastor. The Foundation accepts grant requests only from within St. Lorenz Church and School. All grant applications are reviewed by the Planned Giving and Estate Planning (PGEP) Committee, which submits recommendations to the Board of Directors for final review and approval.

 

Dozens of grants are awarded each year. Examples of projects funded by grants include:

  • Worship & Event Center: Acoustic improvements, technology, stage redesign, storage

  • Church sanctuary: Stained-glass & organ restorations, furnishings, lighting, security, sound, landscaping, parking lot

  • School: Staffing, classroom furniture, technology, storage, facility upgrades

  • Early Childhood & Childcare programs: Staffing, facilities, training, supplies

  • Events: Family & community activities, new-member welcomes, volunteer appreciation, conferences, anniversary celebrations

  • Programs: Older Wiser Lutherans (OWLs), food pantry, Willing Workers, log cabin & museum, REVIVE Young Adults

Every project, program or initative supported by the St. Lorenz Foundation tells a story of faith passed forward. Funding from the Foundation enables a range of projects to ensure the continued vibrancy of the St. Lorenz community.

Dedicated Funds

Designated gifts from donors support a range of areas of focus, including:

  • Pastoral Ministry (e.g., Pastoral Endowment, Vicar Fund)

  • Church (e.g., Stephen Ministry, Church Music, Community Outreach)

  • Missions

  • Student Aid (e.g., Pastor Teacher Student Aid, etc.)

  • School (e.g., Family Aid, Early Childhood/Childcare, Science Program, etc.)

  • Operations (e.g., Church Maintenance, Operating Fund, Communications, Heritage Committee, etc.)

  • Professional Staff (e.g., Educational Enhancement)

Music & Band Rooms Technology
Update

Grant to purchase new technology for our school music and band rooms to provide a better experience for students.

Grant to support sending more than 60 youths in grades 8 through 12, as well as adult leaders, to the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans in July 2025.
